DRYER VENT CLEANING CHECK LIST

  • Dryer duct must be at least 4″ diameter.
  • Concealed ducts must be rigid metal.
  • Duct joints shall be secured with metal tape not duct tape or screws.
  • Pipe connections are installed to point in the direction of the airflow.
  • Dryer vents shall be independent of all other systems and terminate outdoors.
  • Outside hood should be equipped with a functioning back draft damper.
  • Use only flexible metal connectors between the dryer and duct.
  • Install rodent and bird protection.
